A selection of 3D projects I have worked on, some live and built and some concept work for new product development.
This project involved conceptualising and designing an immersive, real-life gaming experience inspired by popular video games such as DayZ and Fortnite. The concept focuses on active gameplay where players navigate a dynamic arena, searching for loot crates that contain a variety of laser-based weaponry, including guns, grenades, and a soft-shot rocket launcher. Some loot boxes are locked behind coded doors, adding an extra layer of strategy as players must locate the necessary intel to unlock these treasures.
Multiple game modes were developed to ensure varied gameplay, with arenas adaptable to different themes and styles. The featured design in this project was set in a post-apocalyptic industrial landscape, utilising a mix of gritty textures, dramatic lighting, and environmental storytelling to immerse players in the setting.
The 3D model was created in 3ds Max, and the project was rendered using Twinmotion, capturing the atmosphere and intricate details of the arena. This concept bridges the gap between video game mechanics and physical activity, offering a unique and engaging experience for players in a live-action environment
At my current role at House of Play, I’m responsible for conceptualising, planning, and designing a range of indoor play environments and leisure products, including soft play centres, trampoline parks, role play villages, and sensory rooms. Successfully managing these projects requires a deep understanding of industry standards such as BS EN 11.76 for play safety, along with expertise in building codes, fire safety regulations, material limitations, and structural calculations to ensure robust, compliant designs.
I take pride in my track record of delivering high-quality projects that not only meet technical standards but also exceed client expectations. My work has contributed to securing substantial contracts, especially with key clients, and I’ve been able to develop strong, long-term relationships that continue to bring repeat business. By combining creativity, attention to detail, and a client-focused approach, I consistently deliver projects that drive results for our business and create engaging spaces that clients and their audiences love.
I was lucky enough to work on a cutting-edge design for Gravity Trampoline Park, introducing a new concept of soft play combined with innovative technology. The space featured dynamic lighting systems, interactive games, and projection mapping to create an immersive experience for visitors. A key aspect of the project was integrating programmable lighting to enhance the play environment and keep it engaging for all age groups.
The open bounce trampoline zone was equipped with a vortex-design airbag for safe landings and a challenging mechanical activity wall to push physical boundaries. The combination of these features, alongside a futuristic and playful aesthetic, ensured the design met modern expectations for leisure spaces while maintaining practical safety standards.
This project required a deep understanding of user needs, technical design, and how to blend creativity with functionality effectively.
For this project, I designed a unique residential structure composed of seven repurposed shipping containers, seamlessly integrated to create a modern, functional home. The design included innovative use of space, featuring expansive decking and thoughtfully crafted outdoor areas to blend the indoors with the natural environment.
Using 3ds Max, I constructed a detailed 3D model of the house, ensuring accurate representation of the structural elements and spatial flow. To bring the concept to life, I utilised Twinmotion to produce high-quality renders that showcased realistic lighting, textures, and environmental context.
A bespoke themed play area with an enchanted garden theme taking inspiration from fantasy stories such as the Borrowers where every day items are much larger. The design is complimented with interactive flower themed lighting and houses a hidden sensory room inside a giant toadstool mushroom.
The lighting and effects added to the design not only enhance the concept behind the design but help with low to no natural light in the area.
The design was a huge success and it’s case study paved the way for a surge of interest in the theme and styling leading to may new contracts.
I had the opportunity to design a cutting-edge space-themed play area installed in Scotland, creating an out-of-this-world experience for kids of all ages. The structure boasts an impressive 5.5-metre four-lane wave slide and a thrilling 7-metre drop slide, alongside eight additional slides for varied excitement. Interactive touch-screen games, dynamic lighting effects, and a digital sports arena add layers of engagement and innovation, while hidden areas with effects and screens immerse children in a vibrant space adventure. A thoughtfully designed baby area features a space carousel, catering to younger visitors.
This was one of the largest play frames built by House of Play, meticulously themed to bring the client’s vision of a cosmic play world to life. Working closely with the client, I ensured all requirements were met, from conceptualisation to installation. Attention to detail and a collaborative approach allowed us to create a space that not only entertains but leaves a lasting impression.
This nursery play area design brings a calming and natural aesthetic, featuring a light birch plywood frame complemented by pastel tones and soft greens, creating an inviting and serene environment. At its heart is a multi-functional play frame equipped with interactive games and sensory elements, encouraging exploration and imaginative play.
The design includes a dedicated role-play workstation, fostering creativity and social interaction, while a light-up ball pool at the front adds an engaging sensory experience for children. The space is thoughtfully divided by a low retainer wall, which defines the play area while maintaining visibility, and a charming entrance invites children to step into their world of play.
